Entirely possible, though technically it's tarsal/metatarsal in the foot. What it's more likely to be is a pinched nerve in that area, temporarily so rather than persistent as in carpal tunnel. BTDT - at least, I'm assuming the foot problems I had last year were that.
That makes sense - it seemed a bit better after I took some aspirin, so I'll try some ibuprofren and see what happens. Of course all the web sites about foot care suggest that it's diabetic neuropathy which would be a new trick since I'm not diabetic...*rolls eyes*
It is possible to get "tarsal tunnel syndrome" in your foot.
It's more likely to be a pinched nerve, as Marion says, unless it becomes chronic. It usually takes some kind of ankle injury (to the inside of the ankle) to cause the syndrome.
