My dad wouldn't put that on paper, but he does talk like that about the times he's been called n on jury duty when he was self-employed and would have no income as a result.

Since he's been retired, they haven't called him in .

All you're supposed to do is verify the signature, and that the signatory isn't being coerced. I probably would have said something like "are you sure?" but as long as the signatory is doing it of his own free will....
