What is the nearest gas station to the airport in Omaha? I'm a bit worried because I didn't see one on the way out and of course do not know the city well. Thanks in advance!

And speaking of locals...

I want to thank [livejournal.com profile] etienetteblue and Leofwyna for an enchanting time yesterday. They picked me up just after class, showed me William Jennings Bryan's house and the Sunken Garden in Lincoln (just GORGEOUS), and then drove me to Mag Mor's A&S night. I made many friends, spoke on medieval quilts, and had a wonderful time. Afterwards we went to Tico's for Mexican and I socialized more with my new SCAdian friends.

The evening ended with my hostesses taking me back to the Sunken Garden, which looks very much like fairyland at night. There was at least one couple sitting on a bench overlooking a waterfall, being romantic, and we speculated how many couples got engaged there in the night air.

Just wonderful, and makes me feel much better about my residence semester. It's more likely to be in 2012 than 2010 at this point, but I won't be alone when I arrive. Vivant to two wonderful ladies and their Barony!

Regarding finding a gas station near the airport, we don't much get into that part of town. I guess I'd gas up at one of the intersections near downtown where getting back on the interstate might be less confusing (at Farnam, Harney, Dodge or Leavenworth exits maybe). I'd think if you top off the tank carefully there shouldn't be enough used from there to make a problem checking the car in.

I noted on Facepage Baron Sash commented today "Am having a reflective moment about last night's A&S presentation by Mistress Sarah from the East Kingdom. The information she shared with us on period quilts and quilting was great, but, the best part of the entire evening was being able to share a different perspective from outside Calontir. Long live Calontir."

Hey, Ellid, don't have your email immediately handy, but wanted you to know that choir practice on Sunday this week starts at 5:30 PM instead of 6:00 PM.
