Definitely an amazing man. I hope that he retains such clarity of thought for a long time to come.
Dying with dignity and having the freedom to meet death as one chooses is such a sticky subject with people. Personally I find it sad that people would not let an animal suffer, and yet we cannot grant the same *humane* release to a human being, even when they want it.
I've always told folks I don't fear death, I fear dying. I now have some ammunition, if you will, to blast at certain relatives when they start bitching at me (as they are prone to do about once a year or so) about my living will.
