As he looks his own mortality squarely in the face.

Yes, he's made mistakes. Yes, there have been times I've felt like clubbing the man over the head. But he's handled this final stage of his life with grace and courage, and with concern for his constituents and the country.

I will miss him.

I find it impressive just how much of his energy he is spending on concern for his constituents and the country. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be so selfless.

You don't have to agree with someone to respect that someone. I respect him greatly now.

I heard about it on NPR and I was just so overwhelmed with respect. He's not perfect, but he's going out with class and respecting the people he's represented for decades.
