And no, I don't want to engage in debate over this. I don't want to hear about how *exciting* Scott Brown is, and how he connects with the voters, and what a nice guy he is, and how he really isn't that bad for a Republican and is secretly much more liberal than one thinks. I've heard it all, and I've read his positions, and guess what? He's about as liberal as George W. Bush, down to supporting torture and exaggerating his military service.*
We do not need another plastic candidate with perfect teeth and perfect hair and a perfect Republican voting record in the Senate. I'm not crazy about Coakley, but the idea of Senator Brown makes me physically ill.
If someone reading this is offended or thinks I've wrong, too bad. I'm sick of Scott Brown getting a free pass on posing nude (NO female candidate could have this in her past and be electable) and opposing medical care for rape victims and supporting waterboarding and opposing regulation of a financial system run amok. I'm tired of him questioning whether the President's parents were married, and vowing to be the One Loyal Republican who derails the President's domestic agenda. I'm ready to vomit when his daughters defend him for legislation that would have kept them from receiving contraception if they'd been unfortunate to seek treatment at a Catholic hospital after rape, and I've had more than my fill of his groveling to the obnoxious tea party movement.
Martha Coakley has all the charisma of a mud puddle, but I'll take her any day over Scott Brown. Sorry.
*I'm sorry, but being a JAG in the National Guard does not qualify one as an expert on terrorism. Or anything else except being a JAG in the National Guard.
