Day of accomplishment

Busy and full day....

Got up, made breakfast, and joined C over at the gym for a morning workout. We then had lunch at the local Panera's, where I bought my contribution to the -

Pennsic encampment meeting. I'm still not 100% certain that I'm going, but it looks like, so I decided to attend. We've started planning, went over equipment needs, set the camp fee ($25 per person), the meal plan fee ($10/day per person), and the meeting schedule.

While there I also figured out what I'd done wrong with the socks I'm knitting and finished the cuffs (I'm using the two circular need method to knit both socks at once). I also got a good start on knitting an iPod cozy AND activated my new cash card.

Came home, bathed, got laundry ready for tomorrow, and watched Siren drink my bathwater while I was in it. She also seemed oblivious to the fact that she'd dunked half her tail in the water. Silly cat. :)

All in all, a good if not restful day. That's for tomorrow. Go, me.

He is, even if the Bubble Bath Incident of 2001 cured him of the notion that bath foam is solid.

In her defense, I have to say that Siren suffered a nasty tail injury 9 years ago that might have left her with decreased nerve sensitivity. However, she's drunk hot bathwater since she was a kitten.

Daft cat. (Ours would only drink from a dripping cold tap in the bath; we learnt to recognise the miaouw that meant 'you've turned the tap off, I'm thirsty!')

Are you knitting the socks top down or toe up? (I'm magic-looping Knitty's Sunday Swing socks (top down) at the moment, but one at a time.

Top down. They're a nice worsted weight blue and will be nice and cozy when I'm finished :)

Sounds good! I haven't done any socks (yet...) in heavier yarn; mostly I'm using self-patterning (or otherwise variegated) sock yarns. The Sunday Swing socks are being made in Trekking Pro Natura, which is 75% wool/25% bamboo. The last pair I made were the Express Lane socks, in Wendy Happy, which is 75% bamboo/25% nylon! But I had a book, Socks from the Toe Up by Wendy Johnson, as a Christmas present, and that has several patterns in it for worsted-weight socks. Not that we can *get* 'worsted weight' in the UK, mind you! If I make any of those, it'll have to be in plain DK.
