Really. The company needed some documents flown over, and for a couple of hours it looked like I was going to be the one doing it. They decided to send one of the team that was actually working on the proposal instead, but the mere fact that I volunteered got me some serious props from the brass. :)

On the way home tonight I stopped in Northampton to do a little window-shopping. A group of young people were gathered outside the shop I planned to visit, and one, a young Grizzly Adams clone, had a sweet little calico kitten perched most prettily on his shoulder. She gave one of those little cat smiles when I scritched her under the chin and closed her eyes in that blissful way that cats do when they're very content. I petted her for a few minutes, her owner told me she was about five months old, and I bade her good-bye and went on my way.
Nothing like a kittencat to make the world lovely.
