First - it turns out that Sapphy needed only a new battery and new spark plugs to be running just fun. I enjoyed driving my BFF's Impala as a loaner, but man, it was nice to get my own car back! I watched T and B's pets this weekend as a thank you, and spent several hours longer than I'd intended because their dog was lonely and their cats were begging to go out. Also got to watch some enjoyably silly pseudo-archaeology on the History Channel, which for once wasn't showing assassination crap or Hitler documentaries.

My cold is over, which is good; I missed helping a friend get her house ready for a very sick loved one because I didn't want to risk infecting anyone. I'm going to see about visiting later this week to check on them. I'm also going to work on a raffle quilt to help them defray medical expenses, since of course insurance isn't covering all their care :(

Bergental did a demo for the Medieval Fair at Ventfort Hall, a 28 room "summer cottage" in the Berkshires. The building is a magnificent Elizabethan-themed mansion, the weather was flawless, and we drew almost 500 people! They definitely want us back next year, and I left them my card in case they're interested in hosting a lecture on what Henry VIII and his family *really* had on their beds.

And so it goes.

Let us not forget Project Valkerie, aka the attempted assassination of Hitler. We can never forget it, not with all the times the History Channel goes back to it. :)

Not to mention the Tom Cruise movie....

I lost History and Discovery when Comcast went digital here... apparently I was receiving those signals despite them not being on my official "plan." And, naturally, you can't tell them that you just want the History Channel... noooooooooo, but you can double your monthly bill by getting History and whatever all else comes in its package. *hmpf* We're making do without. I only really notice the loss if somebody's home sick. They did have decent learning-type shows suitable for children.

Glad to hear that Ventford Hall went so well. Some day I'll get to go do stuff more often than once a year. But I'm in no rush.

I'm waiting for HC to change it's name to the WWII Channel...

Surprise! It's Alan's fave. (sigh)
