Yes, really. The wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas asks Anita Hill, who accused Justice Thomas of sexual harassment, to apologize.

Note that Mrs. Thomas heads Liberty Central, a Tea Party group that makes Barry Goldwater look liberal. Stirring up her fellow conservatives two weeks before an election about something that happened TWENTY YEARS AGO seems, at the very least, suspect. I also wonder why Justice Thomas hasn't followed Justice Kagan's example and recused himself from cases involving conservative lobbying groups since his wife's involvement with such groups doesn't precisely inspire confidence in his ability to maintain judicial objectivity.

Disgusting, on all counts.

Biggest "Oh No She Didn't!" Ever!

When i first saw mention of this? I was sure it was an Onion article.

The Onion couldn't make this up.

I've seen a lot of speculation that she was drunk. I can only hope that this was the case, because otherwise she's crazy.
But it was 730in the morning. I know some sleeping pills allow you to be conversational when you're really sleeping but she released a statement standing by this.

I saw that headline and thought at first that Mrs. Thomas was apologizing to Ms. Hill. Then I read the article.

I'm guessing you are familiar with what's in this article:
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/10/09/us/politics/09thomas.html?_r=1&ref=politics

It was news to me but my head is stuck in a no-news zone these days.

I have no idea what Ginny Thomas thought this would accomplish, and frankly don't want to know. However, I think I can safely say that this was a very, very bad idea.

So Mom tells me about this earlier this evening. I ask her if it's an Onion article.

Nope.

The we both said it at the same time, "Drunk-dialing."

You don't *really* wonder why, do you? Getting a chance to render judgement where one is already biased is too good an opportunity for some folks to pass up, and ethics was never his strong suit.

Dear Mrs. Thomas,

I'm sorry your husband sexually harassed me.

No Love,
Anita

Think that would do?

I heard that on the news this morning -- there is just not enough WTF in the world, and hey, Ginny, maybe you should get on some meds.
