Stuff that's happened lately:

- Finished term paper for this semester's class *at Yule*, uploaded it that night...and received my grade about twelve hours later. Got 36 of 40, for a total course grade of 95/100. *phew*

- Yule was wonderful, not least because the final tally on the quilt raffle was - *drumroll* - $2500 and change. I will deposit checks on Saturday and cash out the account when the checks have cleared. I got to see I Sebastiani rehearse, and then damn near choked over the shenanigans when I saw the actual performance. They are *fabulous*.

Also, it looks like my BFF, who's been a fringie for a while, may actually be getting involved in a more serious way. Words cannot express the joy that this brings me, since she and her husband are good people and are already friends with many in Bergental.

- Because a very large batch of tickets arrived after the scheduled drawing in Court, I now am making *two* quilts, one for Baroness Varju, one for a non-SCAdian (Syr Kai McLain's brother-in-law, weirdly enough). Never said I wasn't crazy....

- Company did well enough this year that I'm actually getting a profit sharing bonus, half of which is going into my 401(k), half of which is going to pay for the Last Homely Garret. No idea how much the bonus is, but if I get two months' rent on the Garret out of it, I'll be delighted.

- Siren, eldest of the Triple Felinoid, has taken up semi-permanent residence directly against the radiator in my bedroom. I keep expecting her to ignite at any second, but she seems to like it. Weird cat.

- Am reading and immensely enjoying [livejournal.com profile] otterdance's Nightrunner series. I'd read the first book several years ago but not the rest, and I'm making up for lost time. Fun swashbuckling with a serious side, and a well developed political and magical world. There's a also a companion series/prequel that is a terrific exploration of gender norms, sexism, and the price that even the best intentioned must pay to complete their mission.

- I have the week after Christmas off for a much delayed vacation (recovery from surgery is not a vacation, even if one is not as work *rolls eyes). So far I'm scheduled to give platelets and have lunch with my old friend Mal, and I'm planning an expedition to the Springfield Museum of Fine Arts to see an exhibit of studio quilts, some of which may well be made by people I know.

Other than that, work is busy, it's wicked cold, and life is more than tolerable.

And so it goes.....

That's a great result on the quilt raffle. Congrats! Glad to hear other things are going well for you too.
