Or close enough.
I went to Wistariahurst to help decorate for Christmas, and on the way I decided to stop by a certain bookstore to pick up a highly discounted object that a dear friend who's going through some hellish financial times had expressed a desire to own. I had a few minutes to spare, and I figured that I'd be in the area, so what the hey.
And guess what? The first group of crazed holiday shoppers had shopped till they dropped and then gone home to recuperate, so there were actual, genuine parking spaces. Lots of them. And no lines, even though the highly discounted object had been heavily advertised on-line, in e-mails, etc.
So I walked in, bought the highly discounted object, walked out, got in Sapphy, and drove off to grab breakfast before Wistariahurst. After that I had lunch, donated a dose and a half of my precious bodily fluids for the good of humanity, nearly passed out because I didn't drink enough at lunch and asked for a heating pad when I didn't need one, and came home.
And that's where I found an e-mail in my inbox about what may be The Next Cat, a sweet little tabby that my friends Geoff and Nan have been asked to find a home for. I'm waiting for pictures and more information about this theoretical beast (which they are willing to deliver, believed it or not!), but if they can hold off until December 17th, when I'll have had a chance to clean the house, I might, just MIGHT, have found a new little friend.
All in all, a most decent day. Keep your fingers crossed about the kitty, since Diamond and Malfoy have been at loose ends lately and have responded by getting plump (Diamond) and acting cowed (Malfoy). They've also been scrapping, which hasn't happened in a while, and I've noticed them both sitting/sleeping in places that Siren favored. I think they could use a new little friend, too.
We shall see.
