ellid: (Malfoy)
His current name is Pharaoh, and I found out about him through [livejournal.com profile] chrisilin. Evidently he was brought in after being shot with a .22 through the lungs, and has made a fine recovery...only problem is that his owner couldn't afford his care and surrendered him.

I've fallen in love with his picture, and from what [livejournal.com profile] chrisilin tells me, he's healthy, very affectionate, and very even tempered. The only thing that is holding me back from having her send him up is the thought that maybe there's someone closer who needs a little friend...but if no one else wants him, I think he's going to be coming here toward the end of December.

And if this darling boy isn't enough, my friend Nan near Albany thinks she's found a mellow little girl for me. She was a barn kitty who was rescued by someone who's willing to foster her for a while but doesn't want her permanently, and she sounds just gorgeous. I'm going to go up to see her on the 17th, and sucker that I am, the odds are excellent that I'm going to bring her home, too.

Diamond and Malfoy won't know what hit them - but these two need a good home, and I think it's going to be the Last Homely Shack.

So much for not becoming a crazy divorcee with too many cats....

Isn't he gorgeous?

He's adorable, and there is nothing wrong with being a crazy divorcee with too many cats. I have nine, and wouldn't trade them for anything. :)

If I take them both, that *will* be it. Four is all I can afford to feed :)

oh he's lovely. also, two cats per each human in the household is a totally rational number. you're just minding your housemate's cat portion for her, that's all.

Isn't he beautiful? I love the markings on his chest.

Okay, that orange boy is one of the cutest cats I've ever seen. And such a sad story! I want you to have him just so I can hear stories about him and see pictures all the time and know that he's well. ♥

Baby girl sounds like she'd be quite a lovely little friend, too, if she's not too much of a barn-kitty to be social! Yay for kitties!

Evidently the reason the barn-kitty isn't a barn-kitty anymore is because she's so sweet and loving. She'll have her shots before she comes here but I'll have to get her spayed, which is fine :)

Oh what a sweety!

Isn't he though? That paw reaching through the bars!

He looks like he was born to rule, so I think its a good name. And survived being shot?!?! Wow.

If he comes here, his use-name will be Alec, after a favorite fictional character who is - get this - young, blond, and survives being shot through the lungs. But Pharaoh will stay part of his name.

He's a lucky boy, and I will do my best by him. The people who surrendered him will be giving his next owner a wonderful gift, and I wish I could tell them that he'll be getting a loving home.

Looks like Roomie and I are psychic, or something.

Yay for kitties!

...does this mean barn-kitty is going to be called Beka?

Uh...

that's on the short list :)

SHOT??

*hedsplodey*

Don't wait until the end of the month to claim him - he will be locked in that cage until you show up, poor thing.

And barn cats are wonderful. Just don't tell Trinity I said that ;)

Yes, shot him. [livejournal.com profile] chrisilin thinks it may have been a hunter who was aiming at a bird in the grass, but we'll never know. The bullet went right through his lungs and fortunately cauterized the wounds, which have healed completely. The only souvenir he'll have is a fragment the size of a pencil point in his chest, and [livejournal.com profile] chrisilin assured me that this will not cause any problems.

As for the barn kitty, I'll be meeting her on December 17th. The resident felines will not be pleased with me for a while, but....
