One of Gil's less wonderful talents

Based on what I've been scooping out of his litter box, my beautiful, silky, fluffy gray boy produces the MOST ENORMOUS WASTE products I have EVER seen. We're talking 6-7" long, boys and girls, regardless of whether he's eating wet or dry food, and no, there's no evidence of hairballs because he really seems to enjoy being combed and brushed.

Other than that, and a persistent tendency to rush the sliding door onto the deck in a vain attempt to explore the back yard, he's doing extremely well. This is by far the calmest, easiest cat integration I've ever had, quite possibly because I kept him away from Diamond and Malfoy for the first several days and have left his food and litter box downstairs for the time being so he has a place to go that's *his*.

This is also the calmest, quietest, mellowest cat I've ever had, including my beloved Arrow. Seriously - you pick Gil up and he immediately goes limp, regardless of position. He loves to be petted, enjoys being brushed, and loves to sit on laps/lie down with his human. No fear, very little aggression, and the silliest little *meep* noises in lieu of mews.

I really lucked out with this one. Fabulous, fabulous cat.

Well, at least if they are that huge, perhaps there will be fewer of them?

With the long hair and the mellow loafy temperament, I have to wonder if he has some Ragdoll or Persian in the mix. <3

My vet thinks Norwegian Forest Cat since he's on the long and lanky side, plus he has these little tufts on his cheeks. Ragdoll is another possibility since he's so calm.

Seriously, the cat reminds me of the SCTV sketch where Perry Como is so mellow and laid back that he sings disco lying down....

He sounds like a darling.

He is. I swear, I have never in my life seen such a laid back cat. He's not afraid of Malfoy at all, and is just utterly relaxed. Amazing.

I'm so, so glad for you! Welcome to the neighborhood, Gil!

:) Thanks!

Sounds like he has the "ragdoll" mutation. I was just reading about how they are fearless, which is why they are so relaxed when picked up. The fearlessness seems to be linked tot he lack of aggression, too-- I suppose aggression is generally proactive defensiveness, really.
I bought an encyclopedia on cats, and its really absorbing.

Could be - the vet thinks maybe Norwegian Forest Cat because he's long and lanky, but he's probably just an all-American mutt :) Regardless, this is the most relaxed, calm, affectionate cat I've ever seen, and his integration into the Triple Felinoid is going amazingly well.
