Things I've done in the last few weeks...
- Flu shot.
- I had my physical last week, with acceptable results. I've lost 20 pounds, and though my cholesterol hasn't budged, my triglycerides have dropped like a rock into the normal zone. I'm back in the gym after a hiatus and hope that helps, because I sure as #!$!@$@#! don't want to go near a statin. I've heard way too many horror stories.
- Writing continues, including my column at Daily Kos, a second story sold to Circlet Press, revisions to an article based on my Kalamazoo presentation last May, and some fiction. I feel juiced for the first time in ages, and it's a really good feeling.
- That said, had a bit of a dust-up over the split on the rent on the Garret; one of my co-tenants was a total jerk about it, so I'm paying a slightly larger share to keep the peace. Fortunately there's a good chance he's leaving by the end of the year so it may be moot. Even better, I now have a waiting list if there's an opening, and the newest tenant is a real sweetheart, so it's all working out.
- Car is running well.
- Work is work. :)
Overall, not bad. Nothing dramatic, but that's a good thing.

I started a part-time job right away (probably wouldn't have retired without it), but I expected to have my act together a bit better by now in other respects. Will try to be inspired by your excellent example!
