I just sent small donations to the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, and the Southern Poverty Law Center. Trump's appointment of a white supremacist as his senior "strategist" (whatever the hell that means, since I've never heard that term used for a presidential adviser before) speaks volumes about what the next few years will be like. Those are my charities now, and God keep them safe because the Republicans will finally be able to do what they're been set on for years: repeal the 20th century.

Also? If there's actually a Muslim registry? I'm signing up.

Hi. I saw your comment on semyaza's post about fake news. Like most conservatives, she's getting a tremendous amount of misinformation about the election from somewhere, and it's not from their mainstream media outlets. Until I spotted a comment of hers about Hillary being a criminal, I had no idea what her political views were. She defriended me when she found out I was a Hillary supporter. I refuse to defriend her but I do get why you would. I haven't decided what to say about her fake news post but I feel have to say something.

If there's a Muslim registry, I'm signing up, too. I'm also a leftist Christian a member of All Saints Church Pasadena. Sorry. I just realized you're UU. Depending on the UU church, I know you may or may not consider yourself a Christian. My personal beliefs are much closer to UU than to mainstream Anglicanism. All Saints is a unique church.

I love cats. I think we have some things in common besides hating Trumpism. Anyway. Is it okay if I friend you?

I was reasonably shocked by her posts this election season, to put it mildly. That's why I decided I wasn't interested in her LJ at this point. That may change - she's done some gorgeous icons, which is what I noticed to begin with - but it's best if I step back.

As for my religion, I'm a liberal Christian, so no problem with an Episcopalian. My dearest friends are members of Christ Church Cathedral in Massachusetts, and I was raised in the United Church of Christ (and may be rejoining them soon - I'm not fond of the local UU church so we'll see). Friend away, the more the merrier!
