The little SOB attacked Siren IN MY BED at 6:35 this morning while I was cuddling her and deciding whether it was worth trying to get some extra sleep before I shoveled driveway. The sole reason my left hand isn't dripping blood is because I wear a carpel tunnel brace to bed.

So much for extra sleep. As for Malfoy, I spanked him and threw him out of the bedroom. Anyone know where I can pick up the equipment to bastinado him, cheap?

In less fraught news...

The jaw pain seems to have been tension related, not a toothache. Thank God.

This day had better improve.

Horror in Arizona

Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Arizona) was shot at an appearance in her district, along with a dozen others. Preliminary reports are that Congresswoman Giffords was shot at point-blank range in the head.

I have no words.


UPDATE: According to CNN, Congresswoman Giffords is still alive but is in very critical condition. Six others are confirmed dead.

Writer's Block: Rise and shine

[Error: unknown template qotd]Shove Siren off the bed, turn on the light, shove my glasses on my face, and spit out my nightguard. Then I get up, stagger into the bathroom to perform my ablutions, and drink a glass of water regardless of whether I feel thirsty or not.

Then I feel ready to face the day.

And the verdict...

Siren loves, and I do mean LOVES, Hills dry and Royal Canin wet renal formula. She *stuffed* herself on the dry this afternoon and did the same with the wet. I'm also going to investigate making my own catfood, but it's good to know that she likes these brands so much for days when I'm out of town or don't have time to cook anything for her.
