Note also that the supposedly "generous" $5,000 tax credit is less than HALF the usual price for family insurance coverage, and that it would barely cover the cost of private insurance for most single people. Also note that people like me, with a pre-existing condition that could ultimately result in expensive surgery and an expensive recovery, would be virtually unable to obtain insurance.

Nice job, John. I wonder if you would be able to get insurance if you weren't a veteran, in Congress, and married to a rich woman who can pay for your continual melanoma care out of pocket?

Don't get me started on taxable health plans....
For small business owners, all health insurance is taxable. Not via the paycheck, but the owner of the business' health insurance is taxable to the corporation, unlike that of their employees. So, ultimately, it's taxed, just not where it can jump out at you.

Just another way of showing us how 'small business friendly' our goverment is....NOT!
