Oh, dear. This makes me think of a conversation another PCV recounted to me recently--she was telling her landlady about the US economic crisis, and the response was, "Crisis? You don't know what a crisis is!"

As bad as things look right now, we're still a long way off from perestroika. ::fingers crossed::
