ellid: (From Edelweiss68)
I received a letter from my doctor at Mass Eye and Ear confirming what I'd already guessed: not only has the acoustic neuroma not grown, it appears to be slightly smaller than originally thought. Given that it's been approximately two years since my diagnosis with no growth, I think it's fairly safe to say that the neuroma is stable, and as long as it's stable, there's no reason to remove it.

Quite the relief, oh yes. Now if the sinus infection will clear up enough for me to write, my life will be complete...

Isn't it, though? It's a huge weight off my mind, especially if I move or change jobs.

Indeed! I may never get back the hearing I've lost, but I can live with what I have. *toasts you back*

*grins* I'm pretty happy about this. I was 90% certain that all was well ([livejournal.com profile] countessinn was sure almost from the start that the neuroma wouldn't grow, and of course she was right) but it's nice to receive confirmation.

WOOHOO!!! That is great news!

That was *really* good news - these things almost never shrink without radiation, so it looks like I'm not only in the 40% of AN patients with stable tumors, I *might* be one of the lucky few whose tumors decrease slightly. Either way, I'll take it!

I'm still trying to come up with ways to pay for an MRI. I'd like to know for sure what's going on...

*raising her mug of morning coffee* Here's to continued good news for you! *glugglug* :)
