Why I am not going to Pennsic

I went to the doctor yesterday because of a non-life threatening but increasingly disruptive medical condition. I'd seen a general surgeon for this a couple of years ago and really, really disliked him and his approach, so I canceled the whole thing. Yesterday's doctor was a specialist, and after a talk with him and his nurse, I will be undergoing this procedure on July 12, 2010.

I'm not especially happy about this; I'll be out of work for about a week and a half, plus there's the whole pain/ick/debility factor. I've put it off long enough, though.

I have been away and missed this update. I'm sorry you're missing Pennsic. I hope the procedure and the recovery goes well. (Traveling through western MA next Saturday. If you need anything, please advise and I can drop it off.)
